Forj is happy to now offer several options for feedback to Learners during and after completing a Quiz Activity within their Forj Learn Courses. Admins can write custom Correct, Incorrect, and General feedback messages for each question, and decide when that feedback is shown to Learners — for example, upon submission of the quiz, upon passing, or as they answer each question. Follow the steps below to setup Quiz Activity Feedback.

SET FEEDBACK TIMING

Follow the steps below to control when Learners receive feedback on their Quiz answers.

1. Navigate to the desired course.
2. Navigate to the Quiz Activity page.
3. Click the settings icon.
4. Toggle on the Feedback option.
5. From the Feedback dropdown, select when Learners should see feedback based on their answers. The available options are:
   • Upon submission of quiz — feedback is shown after the Learner submits the entire quiz.
   • Upon passing — feedback is shown only after the Learner achieves a passing grade.
   • Upon completing each page — feedback is shown after the Learner finishes each page of questions.
   • Upon answering each question — feedback is shown immediately after each question is answered.
   • Upon clicking "Check my answers" — feedback is shown when the Learner chooses to check their answers.
6. Click the Save button.

ADD FEEDBACK MESSAGES TO A QUESTION

Follow the steps below to write the feedback messages Learners will see for a question.

1. On the Quiz Activity page, locate the question you want to add feedback to.
2. Click the Add feedback messages link (this becomes Edit feedback messages once feedback has been added).
3. Enter the message Learners will see when they answer Correctly.
4. Enter the message Learners will see when they answer Incorrectly.
5. Enter a General message that provides additional context or explanation regardless of the answer.
6. Click the Save button.

LEARNER VIEW

Learners will see the feedback messages you have written based on the timing option selected in the Quiz settings. Correct answers display the Correct feedback message, incorrect answers display the Incorrect feedback message, and the General message provides additional context to reinforce the learning objective.

The example below shows the positive feedback a Learner receives after selecting a correct answer. The Correct feedback message appears at the top on the right-hand side, and the General feedback message appears directly below it, providing additional context to reinforce the concept.

The next example shows the negative feedback a Learner receives after selecting an incorrect answer. The Incorrect feedback message appears at the top on the right-hand side, and the General feedback message appears directly below it to help guide the Learner toward the correct response on their next attempt.
