On Journey by Forj, single sign-on (SSO) can be configured with NetForum, an association management system (AMS) platform. NetForum provides authentication for end users, allowing Members to sign in to Journey by Forj using their NetForum credentials. Journey by Forj also integrates with NetForum's User Management Provider to synchronize Member profile data and to automatically map Members to Groups based on their NetForum Committee memberships. Only Community Admins can access Authentication and User Management Provider settings; Group Managers can access the Group to Committee sync configuration for their own Groups.

Authentication settings control how Members sign in to a Community. Community Admins enable NetForum as an SSO option from the Authentication page in Community Settings, then configure the Site URL, Site Code, WebCode, and xWeb credentials that NetForum uses to process the login request.

• Navigate to Community Menu > Community Settings > Authentication.
• Enable the SSO toggle to the right of the "Allow your members to signup/login using" section.
• Click Add Provider.
• Select NetForum from the list of available providers.

• Enable the NetForum toggle.
• Select the Group that Members are automatically added to when connecting for the first time, from the dropdown under "Set the group that your members will be automatically added to, when connecting for the first time."
• Enter the desired text in the Button Label Text field. This text appears on the sign-in button Members use to log in with NetForum (for example, "Log in with [Community Name] ID"), and updates automatically in the Button Preview.
• Enter the Site URL, which is the URL that receives the NetForum authentication request.
• Enter the Site Code. This is usually the organization's acronym.
• Enter the WebCode (for example, "LoginRequired").
• Enter the xWeb Username and xWeb Password used to authenticate with the NetForum API.
• Click Save.

Note: A warning message appears above these fields stating that a NetForum User Management Provider with a Namespace for External User IDs must be configured before SSO settings work correctly. Complete the steps in “NetForum User Management Provider” to resolve this warning.

Map Groups to Netforum Committees

Once NetForum Committee to Group Sync is enabled in the User Management Provider, Group Managers can map their individual Groups to specific NetForum Committees. Members of a mapped Committee are automatically added to the corresponding Group, and are automatically removed from the Group when they are no longer Members of the Committee.

• Navigate to the Group's settings.
• Select External Syncing from the Group settings menu.

• Click + Add NetForum Committee.

• Select the desired committee from the Committee Name dropdown.

• Repeat the steps above to map additional Committees to this Group, if needed.

Note: Selecting a Committee Name saves automatically; no additional Save step is required.
