Below are 10 easy tips to help encourage Community Members to be more active and engage with content.
1. Start a Discussion conversation by asking Members to reach out with a photo/win/opportunity for the week. This helps Members share a personal side with other Members who may only know them professionally.
2. Use a surprising or intriguing subject line to spark Member curiosity. This can be a question or a newsworthy topic that is popular in your Community. Emojis can also make a Post stand out, and hashtags make Posts easier to find via search.
3. Ask questions about possible future discussion topics, and follow up with content based on Member responses, showing that their interests are driving the conversation.
4. Create Poll questions that are specific and relevant to the Members in the Group. Consider reviewing conversations in the Feed to find topics that are being discussed naturally amongst your Members.
5. Highlight key Members of the Group by telling their stories or sharing their wins. Ask Members to share their points of view and content to let them know their contributions are valued.
6. Utilize the assistance and expertise of key Members by allowing them to draft regular Posts so Members can see content from multiple perspectives.
7. Nudge some of the more active Members to interact with Posts, or reach out privately to see who can help Posters with their question or comment.
8. Create a content calendar and routine. If content is consistent in frequency, Members begin to expect and look forward to scheduled Group interactions.
9. Organize a Member leadership team, and consider awarding Badges or assigning Roles for their part in the Community. Seek Members who want to share more content, welcome new Members, and help moderate the Community for mentorship.
10. Create sub-groups based on topics, locations, or common interests to establish more intimate circles and keep conversations relevant.
