Forj Membership Tiers allow Admins to set unique course prices for different Membership types to see immediate revenue impact. Loyal Members can be rewarded with discounted access, while non-members are offered the same content at premium rates.
Follow the steps below to setup your Membership Tiers and conditional Course pricing.

Setup Conditional Course Pricing
SETUP MEMBERSHIP TIERS
- Navigate to Community Settings via the Community Menu or General gear.
- Select Membership Tiers.
- Enter the name used for individuals in the Default tier (e.g. User, Non-Member, Standard Member).
- Note all users who are not assigned to a specific Tier will be automatically added to the sitewide Default.
- Click the Add a Tier button to begin adding your Membership Tiers.
- Enter the name of your Tier into the text box.
- Click the Save button.
Any Tier that has been saved to the list will be available when setting up Course pricing.
- Click the trashcan icon to Delete a Tier if desired.
ADD MEMBERS TO TIERS
Once Membership Tiers have been setup, individual Members of the Community can be added to their specific Tiers. Follow the steps below to the Community wide Member Database for setup.
- Click Community Menu icon.
- Select Member Database.
Here you will see the list of all Community Members, and they will have been assigned to the Default tier.
- Select individual Members to add to a specific Membership Tier.
- Click Bulk Edit.
- Select the Membership Tier as the Bulk Edit field.
- Select the tier from the dropdown menu.
- Click the Submit button.
The selected Community Member(s) will be added to the Membership Tier. This will display in the Community wide Member Database, and the Member Databases for the Groups to which they belong.
Note that this process can also be completed at the Group Membership Database level.
SETUP CONDITIONAL COURSE PRICING
Once you have Membership Tiers, you can setup conditional pricing in Courses based on tiers.
Follow the steps below to add conditional Membership Tier pricing to a Course.
- Navigate to the Catalog Teach tab.
- Click Manage for the desired course.
- Navigate to the Course Access page.
- Enter the Default Price for the Course.
- This will be the price for Learners who do not belong to a Membership Tier set for conditional pricing.
- Click Add conditional price.
- Select the desired Membership tier from the dropdown.
- Enter the price for the selected tier.
- Continue to click Add conditional price to setup as many Membership tier prices as needed.
- Click the Save button.
The Course will display the price as a range from lowest possible to highest possible.
