To close your account go to your profile and click Profile Settings. On the left side of the screen under Update Password, you will see Delete my account in red.
If you are not a member of any community, you will be shown a slightly different screen:
Clicking Delete my account (or Close account) will show text that explains that you’ll lose access to all of your communities. All of your posts, comments, resources, conversations, and private replies will be permanently deleted. The member has to confirm they want to delete their account.
Note: if the member is the Account Owner, Community Manager, or Group Manager they will see instructions on how to remove themselves from their position before they can close the account. See below.
If you are part of multiple communities, you will be prompted with another message notifying you what needs to be done, such as Account Owners needing to transfer ownership of the community or Group Managers needing to choose a primary manager for groups, in order to delete your account.

Community Name
- Group Name
What happens to the data?
- All member data will be deleted from the ‘Data processing services’
If a member left the community & deleted their data, then all their chat conversations will show the name “Unknown User” instead of their name and all their messages will be visible to other members as “Deleted message”.
