Forj is happy to announce an enhancement to Group Visibility settings based on specific Group membership. With smarter visibility settings, Admins can control Suggested Groups while allowing Members the freedom to select Groups that are tailored to their interests and roles.

Admins can now use Group Visibility settings to target Suggested Groups to the right audience, while hiding irrelevant or restricted Groups from the wrong audience. Since only Members of the designated Group can see and join, it keeps the experience clean, focused, and easy to navigate.

SETUP NEW GROUP VISIBILITY

Follow the steps below to use the new setting:

• Select the desired Group.
• Click the Gear icon.
• Navigate to the Group Visibility section of the General page. 

• Click the button for Members of specific groups in [Community Name]. 
• Select the desired Group(s) from the dropdown.

• Click the Save changes button.

MEMBER VIEW

Members will be able to see the list of Suggested Groups based on their other Group memberships, as shown in the example below.  

The Human Resources Crew Group Visibility has been set as only visible to Members of the Leadership Crew. 

Members of the Leadership Crew Group will see the Human Resources Crew Group as a Suggested Group. 

Members who are not in the Leadership Crew Group will not see Human Resources as a Suggested Group. 

ALL GROUP VISIBILITY SETTINGS

Below is an updated list of all Group Visibility settings with explanations of where they will be visible in the platform as well as who can view them.  

• Anyone: The Group will be listed on a Member's Journey by Forj Home page. The Group will also be a Suggested Group for Members to join. 
• Anyone logged into [Community Name]: Only members inside your Community can view the Group and apply to join. The Group will be visible as a Suggested Group for the Members on the left-hand navigation bar. Members can apply to join the Group if they choose, but the Group will not be listed on a Member's Journey by Forj Home page.
• Members of specific groups in [Community Name]: Only Members of the specific selected Group(s) will be able to view as a Suggested Group in the left-hand navigation bar and on the Home page. 
• Only people invited to [Group Name] The Group will not be visible as a Suggested Group in the left-hand navigation bar or on the Home page. Only Members invited or added to the Group will be able to join and have access.
