Having a Welcome Post is a quick and easy way to share a quick tour with your community members and let them know what they can expect to get out of your community.

3. Find 3 members in your community using your Member Directory and introduce yourself to them.

Rules

This is a new endeavor for our community and we need our entire community to help keep this space valuable, safe, and true.

This means that we have some House Rules to ensure we are all getting the most from our community space.

1. No spam or self-promotion: We all like to toot our own horn every now and then - looking at you Social Media ;P - but for the benefit of everyone in our community make sure that it is related to our group. If you would like to share a win you have, we encourage you to share these in our weekly Winning Wednesday Post.
2. Don’t post to Win, post to Understand. When we post to win, with the most positive intent, we are saying “Look! I have all this ungoogleable information, let me share it with you.” When we post to understand, we are making the conscious choice to share experiences that we may have had that can help other members of the community.
3. Trolls- head back to your bridge! There are plenty of places around the internet that tolerate trolling and you’d probably get more traction there. This is not one of those places. If you are tempted to troll, we politely ask you to head over there first.

Guidelines

Guidelines are a great way to help set the tone for your community. Highlight this Post to help new and existing members always have a reference guide on how to make the most of their time in the community.

We are here to [Community Goal]. We need our entire community to help keep this space valuable, safe, and true. This means that we have some House Rules to ensure we are all getting the most from our community space. We have four rules to ensure everyone’s experience here in the community is fun and enjoyable. We ask that you keep these guidelines in mind when posting.

1. 4. Unsure? Ask a Moderator- In our community, we have managers and moderators here to help you out. Go check them out in the Member Directory (and click on managers to see them). If you see a Post in the Feed that violates these guidelines, let us know! Our Moderators will step in to contact the member privately or remove the offending post.

"The Why" of your community is the main reason your members will be joining your community. This Why (or North Star as we like to call it) helps your members ground themselves and really understand where we are as a community.
